BALKAN TRIP

ONE country, THREE cities and THREE different nationalities, welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina! And ofcourse 2 crazy nights with uncountable new memories!

DAY 1, 14.4. (Ljubljana - Banja Luka - Sarajevo)

After the bus departs from Ljubljana we will drive past Zagreb to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our first stop will be in Banja Luka, the capital city of the Republic of Srbska. After we arrive we will first try the world famous hometown coffee, afterwards we will have a guided tour, where we will admire: the fortress of Kaštel, the museum of Republic of Srpska, the national theatre, the government building, the courts of Banske and the museum of national arts. After the sightseeing tour we will have some free time to taste some national specialities. After that we will travel to Sarajevo where we will arrive in the late afternoon. We will check in to our accommodation and get ready for the nightlife that the city center of Sarajevo has to offer.

DAY 2, 15.4. (Sarajevo)

After breakfast we will take a city tour with a local guide. We will have a look at the Begovo GaziHusrev mosque from the 16th century, Carevo mosque with a madrassa, arcaded courtyard and the domed roof, old Orthodox church, the University Library, typical Muslim Svrzina houses and Principles bridge that now bears its old name Latin Ćuprija. During the afternoon we will be on the old Baščaršija, which is the heart and soul of the city, with its shops, handicrafts shops, bars and čevapdžinicas which create an atmosphere of familiarity. During the afternoon you will also have free time to explore the city on your own. After the whole day spent in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina there will be another party night ahead of us.

DAY 3, 16.4. (Sarajevo - Mostar - Ljubljana)

After breakfast we will head towards Mostar which is the pearl of Herzegovina. You will be able to get to know the town on the river Neretva, with a typical Mediterranean climate, surrounded by beautiful mountains. During the war it was severely damaged, but now it was thoroughly renovated and the town slowly returns to life. We will visit the most important monument of Mostar, which is now under the protection of UNESCO - it is the reconstructed bridge over the Neretva river, standing in the place of in the last war destroyed old stone bridge, which was built in 1566 by Mimar Hajrudin. After the sightseeing tour we will have some free time for lunch and enjoy the last dish of čevapčiči before we leave for Slovenia. We will return to Ljubljana in the late evening hours.
